From the Chairman
Dear Supporters,
Hello and thank you for taking the time to review this year’s Salvation Army annual report, which tells the story of how all of us, working together, are making a meaningful impact in our community.
For more than 127 years, The Salvation Army in Kansas City has been compassionately meeting human needs without discrimination. Today, the Army’s services and ministry are stronger than ever, with programs that address some of the community's most pressing problems including hunger, homelessness, and addiction.
While The Salvation Army has a long and rich history, it also continues to embrace new technology, becoming active in social media including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Flickr and other web platforms. These tools are enhancing the way the organization interacts and communicates with its supporters and donors.
The mission of The Salvation Army remains the same year in and year out — helping people in need up the ladder of life, one step at a time. The thousands of officers, staff, advisory board members and volunteers see people, not as they are, but as God intended them to be. Our promise to you is to continue Doing the Most Good — always. We invite you to join us!
Sincerely,
John Goodwin
Chairman of the Advisory Board
